A UX/UI Designer with digital classroom & materials experience.
An educator interested in the design of teaching & learning tools. Also experienced with curriculum design & the setup of a smooth digital learning environment.
I taught Spanish levels 1-5 for 8 years in the Twin Cities in Minnesota, and have utilized dozens of tech tools, apps, programs, and devices in the classroom over the years, often being a part of implementation process. I have always tried to understand my student's concerns and make solutions for them. Teaching online courses from 2020-2023 got me interested in the design process for the types of tech that students learn with.
I became interested in the UX field while seeing the many parallels between being an educator and a designer who advocates for the user. So, I completed a UX/UI/FE Design certification through the University of Minnesota. It was a great experience for me.
With my diverse experience in the world of education, I am eager to offer some of my perspective towards design. I love creating a story, making prototypes, and seeing the process come to life. I can speak Spanish and am code-conversational. Check out one of my case studies below to get an idea of my design style. The case study Class Track is my favorite, as it helps solve a continuous problem for educators in all public schools.
This case study focuses on redesigning a school's website to be easier to navigate & find specific information. This involved adding a new feature to find & sign-up for parent-conferences, plus a restructuring of information to simplify the new site.
